My chapter is “The Story I Told Myself.”
My chapter, The Story I Told Myself, explores a traumatic accident I experienced at age eight and the belief that quietly took root in its aftermath. For nearly 50 years, that story shaped how I saw myself and how I moved through the world. This reflection is about uncovering that hidden narrative and the healing that becomes possible when we bring compassion and awareness to the stories we carry.
The book chronicles 20 women's voices and their unique journey from the desert of self-abandonment to the mountaintop of self-love and radical acceptance. Each chapter focuses on one woman’s specific story, recounting how she has chosen herself by prioritizing her body, mind, and spirit healing.
